Position Overview
Process Engineer will support production located in our factory in Reading, PA. This person must have 5+ years’ experience in fiber assembly and/or fiber development, production and testing or demonstrate equal, equivalent experience. This is a new manufacturing process, and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting the manufacturing of fiber cord assemblies, as well as participating in the development of the new products. This person will be responsible to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and help implement manufacturing plans
- Help identify and implement production processes and cell layouts for newly developed products
- Research and implement/Improve production methodologies
- Participate in design/assembly method development for new products
- Prepare work instructions, routing and bills of materials
- Create/support the quality control plans to ensure all products conform to specification
- Process corrective actions
- Responsible for planning, project management, installation of production and quality equipment
- Optimize product flow, reduce variation, improve quality and implement cost reductions
- Provide support to production operations in the areas of equipment and fixture design
- Provide hand-on, floor level technical support
- Help resolve line processing issues
Skills and Experience
- Bachelors in Engineering; Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial preferred
- 5+ years similar experience in high-tech manufacturing or process engineering related to the design and construction of patch cord assemblies.
- Project Management
- Lean Manufacturing Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability in manufacturing cell start up
- Ability to lead and effectively communicate with cross functional teams
