Position Overview
The Hubbell Summer Internship Program is a 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Gained knowledge of the industry as it pertains to the Hubbell business location
- Evaluate workplace safety and health programs and participate in internal EHS program audits.
- Participate in risk assessments in site work areas (e.g., operations, maintenance, office settings, etc.).
- Developing and reviewing employee training material for various safety and health competencies.
- Promote safety awareness by creating and issuing safety campaigns for all site personnel.
- Assist in testing site workplace environments (industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomics).
- Participate in the incident and near-miss investigations and assist with the closure of findings from these activities.
- Other duties align with the development, improvement, and management of EHS Management Systems for the site.
- Expectations: The intern will be expected to work full-time at 40 hours/week and be compensated hourly.
Skills and Experience
- Applicant should have prior internship experience, however not a requirement
- Student must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related degree (e.g. Management, Sales, Business Management, etc.)
- Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is desired, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills
- Results-driven, accuracy, thoroughness and timeliness
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
