Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide Customer Service Specialists, Field Representatives, Agents and Hubbell Subsidiaries technical and promotional support. Provide liaison and coordination between Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales. Support the expansion of product line into new markets both Domestic and Internationally.

Duties and Responsibilities

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engineering Project Management

  • Manage new product process from inception to roll out.
  • Develop and manage various design changes for product improvement and cost reduction.
Field Support, Training, Market Development
  • Develop market for Hubbell through targeted Engineering, Developer, Contractor, and Channel calls.
  • Provide onsite training to Sales, End Users, and Channel Partners.
  • Present new product to End Users and Channel Partners.
  • Attend related industry Conferences, Trade Shows, and Committee Meetings.
Marketing Support
  • Develop tools (iPad related & others) to support Field Sales marketing capabilities.
  • Provide pricing and product information (drawings, test reports, etc.) for quotations to Customer Service Representatives, Field Representatives, Agents and/or Hubbell Subsidiaries, and directly to Customers when necessary and required.
  • Resolve product returns; i.e. request credit/debits, write HPS evaluations on damaged return material.
  • Assist Manager - Publications and Advertising in preparation of technical publications and review technical information and illustrations.
  • Review customer product specifications and maintain up-to-date customer files.
Internal Business Support
  • Provide select technical information to Customer Service Representatives, Field Representatives, Agents and/or Hubbell Subsidiaries and directly to customers for quotations or when necessary and required.
  • Prepare and run reports as needed or on a monthly basis
Work closely with team to take on time sensitive assignments as requested.

Skills and Experience

PREFERRED TRAINING AND EDUCATION:

  • BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical fields. Technical Associate Degree w/minimum 5 years power utility experience. Knowledge with SAP & MS Project a plus.
