Position Overview
The Quality Inspector I is an entry level position that is responsible for inspecting mechanical detail parts, for compliance to specifications and workmanship standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Quality Inspector I - Inspect in-coming products from suppliers at Beckwith Electric and other duties that may be assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect supplier hardware for conformance to specification tolerance, utilizing any required gages or special equipment.
- Work in accordance with quality control standards and instructions and prepare documentation, i.e., appropriate stamps and related tags as required.
- Process work through ERP system. (SAP)
- May use handling devices and operate handling equipment to support inspection.
- Comply with all work rules, including but not limited to, the Company's safety and attendance policies.
- Work overtime as required.
- Assist the Customer Service / Returns team with inspecting RMAs.
- Maintain accuracy of all inspection records.
- May periodically be required to support ISO documentation maintenance.
Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing.
- Aptitude for use of micrometers and other measurement tools.
- Excellent English reading and writing skills.
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to read, interpret, and inspect to simple mechanical level drawings and specifications, understanding GD&T is a plus.
- Possess computer skills in a PC environment using word processing and spreadsheets.
- Follow inspection guidelines of IPC-A-610 for workmanship/soldering and IPC-A-600 for printed Wiring Boards.
- Comprehend ISO standards and requirements.
Equipment and Tools
- Calipers, Multimeters, Pin Gages, Hole Gauges, Micrometers, Height Gauge, Electric Screwdriver, Microscope, miscellaneous mechanical hardware, Soldering Iron, PC or equivalent and photocopier.
