Position Overview

At Hubbell, we are committed to high standards of ethical and responsible conduct in compliance with the laws of the countries in which we and our business partners do business. Hubbell is seeking a Compliance Investigator supporting enterprise-wide internal investigations.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Compliance, the Compliance Investigator is responsible for conducting sensitive, complex, and often time-critical investigations with minimal disruption to the business. The successful candidate must work well under pressure, have strong conflict management skills, and clearly document and articulate investigative findings, influencing corrective actions and changes within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Compliance Investigator will routinely interface with multiple functions including but not limited to Legal, Internal Audit, Human Resources, and Operations Management, and will be expected to:

  • Investigate claims of violation of Hubbell’s Code of Conduct, Third-Party Code of Conduct, and company policies. This includes conducting highly sensitive, critical, confidential and time critical investigations.
  • Develop and execute all phases of an investigation, including fact gathering; review and analysis of company data, information, and records; and conducting interviews of witnesses and subject employees who may include all levels of employees.
  • Preserve confidentiality or privilege and follows procedures for fact-gathering, document reviews and witness interviews.
  • Perform forensic analysis in support of investigations.
  • Provide accurate and timely oral and written investigative reports to the Senior Compliance Manager, the Chief Compliance Officer, and other senior executives.
  • Coordinate closely with Chief Employment Counsel and Human Resources relative to application, interpretation, and enforcement of the Hubbell Code of Conduct, Third-Party Code of Conduct, and company policies.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, or related degree).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Specific experience with Human Resources, fraud, waste, and abuse investigations required.
  • Excellent skills in organization, active listening, and detail-orientation, along with strong written / verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Case Management software (such as SAI Compliance 360) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the application of employment laws, policies, and practices a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management; ability to work on multiple investigations at once.
