Position Overview
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To support, troubleshoot, set-up, process, and repair molding equipment and or tooling to ensure manufacturing meets all customer schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Retrieve prepared molds and installs into molding presses.
- Secure mold to platen and sets up appropriate mold heating and cooling.
- Proficiently starts up molds using decoupled/ scientific molding practices.
- Inspect sample parts for surface and dimensional defects
- Accurately document process parameters
- Remove molds from the press and stage for disassembly.
- Troubleshoot and correct process problems at the press.
- Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
Hazardous Waste
- Successfully complete job specific RCRA / DOT training, as required.
Skills and Experience
TRAINING AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical school for molding certificate or comparable training from a previous employer.
- Able to safely operate hand held and stationary power tools.
- Able to work safely with sharp and heavy objects (e.g., utility knives, aluminum blocks).
- Able to use measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, dial indicators.
- Able to be licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane hoist, etc.) – we will train.
- Technical school for molding certificate or comparable training from a previous employer.
- 3-5 years previous experience in a injection molding is required, e.g., processing, setups.
