Position Overview

The Hubbell Legal Team is looking for a contract professional who is capable of and experienced in driving the entire contract life cycle, from preparing templates to the execution and management of agreements. Responsibilities for this position will include drafting and redlining agreements, negotiating contract terms, contract administration (including use and management of contract management system and e-signature tool) and managing communications with internal clients. You will be exposed to contracts across the enterprise, including multiple departments, business units, brands, and legal entities, and will assist with strategic enterprise initiatives on an ad-hoc basis. This position reports to the VP, Legal – Enterprise, Privacy and Technology and is located in Shelton, CT. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10%.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, analyze and negotiate corporate and enterprise-wide agreements, including MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, SaaS agreements, licenses, technology agreements, vendor agreements, marketing agreements, sourcing and logistics agreements, and various other types of commercial contracts.
  • Provide internal business clients with advisory support on contractual issues on a variety of contract matters.
  • Advise leadership on concerns relating to contractual risk.
  • Act as primary point of contact for internal clients regarding contractual and interpretation.
  • Serve as administrator for enterprise contract management system.
  • Assist with the development of processes and practices that standardize and streamline the contracting process.
  • Assist with various complex and/or sensitive projects, as assigned.
  • Support training, guidance and education of internal clients and business partners.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior in-house work experience as a contracts manager.
  • Able to work independently, but in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to balance business needs with risks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with particular emphasis on client communication and interaction.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, coworkers and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Possess strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to handle high volume and balance competing demands.
  • Good judgment, a high level of professional integrity and the discretion, tact and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-starter, willing to take initiative and lead projects.
  • Detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior public company in-house experience.
  • Adept at software and systems.
