Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Position Overview
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design software applications/architecture for GUI designs for various Utility Automation products.
- Design, code, and develop software applications using Windows .NET development tools “C#” and WPF.
- Port or implement limited proprietary communications protocols for Hubbell designed equipment.
- Participate in developing design specifications with Sales & Marketing, other cross-functional teams.
- Co-ordinate work, as necessary, with external consulting firms/design vendors, internal offshore team to complete project tasks.
- This work includes, but not limited to, creating SOW, writing design specifications, creating test plans/procedures etc. for the work to be done via external vendor.
- Act as part of the development team to design the software applications to meet the required feature set.
- Assist with the design verification and validation to ensure that the completed design meets the requirements.
- Inform engineering and project management on accomplishments, problems, and plans within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Participate in regular project review meetings with development personnel to review technical issues.
- Support Production, Service, Test, and Sales in all phases of product development including post-engineering support.
- Design, code and develop web application using Angula JS, CSS3, HTML5.
Skills and Experience
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience serving as a technical leader for GUI development projects.
- In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and at least 3 years of experience serving as a technical lead for GUI development projects would be acceptable.
- Must also possess the following: at least 3 years of Visual C# application development experience for industrial products; at least 3 years of Multi-threaded application development experience; at least 3 years of WPF experience using MVVM pattern; at least 3 years of experience with Agular JS, VS IDE, Microsoft SQL Server.
