Duties and Responsibilities
- Able to perform basic quality inspections referring to part drawing – visual, using basic measurement tools such as pin gages, calipers, and micrometers.
- Perform CMM inspections on parts and assemblies to ensure that they meet required specifications and standards.
- Create and update inspection plans and procedures for use with CMMs.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Use various measurement tools such as micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators to supplement CMM data and provide additional quality assurance.
- Document inspection results in a clear and concise manner.
- Analyze inspection data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Communicate with production personnel and engineers to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all quality standards and regulations.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in CMM technology and quality assurance techniques.
Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical training in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control or inspection, with at least 2 years of experience operating CMM equipment.
- Proficient in the use of CMM software and the interpretation of CMM data.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, math data, reports, instructions and guidelines.
- Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with a variety of measurement tools and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is a plus.
