Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for providing leadership and for the overall performance of the following areas: Equipment and Facility Maintenance; Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering; Project Management; and Continuous Improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for managing the maintenance of all plant production and infrastructure equipment as well as the overall facility and grounds.
- Provides engineering support and project management and for the justification of plant projects, preparation of Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs), purchase, project management, construction, installation and modification of capital and expense projects.
- Incumbent manages the budgets of the Maintenance and Engineering Departments, while preserving assets, reducing operating costs, increasing equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and reducing mold change times.
- Additionally, the Technical Services Manager has a major impact on the overall safety, productivity, sustainability, and efficiency of the facility through improved engineering designs, capital evaluations and sourcing.
- Provide technical leadership to reports and peers.
- Establishes standards and policies for operating procedures and preventive maintenance of all plant production and infrastructure equipment, including establishing and maintaining a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Routine facility maintenance duties including plant electrical infrastructure, chilled water systems, HVAC and air exchange systems, facility structural maintenance, facility security, compressed air systems and water systems, and preventive maintenance thereof.
- Position is also responsible for plant janitorial services.
- Manage Supervisors, Engineers, and Technicians as assigned to accomplish Technical Services Department tasks.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required
- Strategic thinker
- Experience managing Maintenance and Engineering departments
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and training skills
- 10+ years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing setting
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Dynamic, results-oriented, metric driven, organized, disciplined leadership
- Excellent Staff development and engagement skills
- SAP Experience preferred
