Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the delivery of an advanced interoperable enterprise software solution into a large utilities’ customer, specifically leveraging your experience in all aspects of Smart Grid Technologies, AMI and operational analytics.

This role requires a deep understanding of smart grid systems, AMI networks, Meter-to-Cash solutions, utility industry standards, and a proven track record of managing complex technical programs from inception to successful implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, sales, and customer support to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Develop and manage a comprehensive program plan that outlines tasks, timelines, dependencies, and resource requirements.

Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals, providing guidance, direction, and performance feedback.

Identify potential risks, issues, and roadblocks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Facilitate communication and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage customer expectations, ensure timely delivery of project milestones, and provide regular status updates to all stakeholders.

Stay current with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies related to smart grid and interoperability to drive continuous innovation and improvement.

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager in the enterprise software company, preferably in smart grid or utility vertical, with a focus on complex enterprise class distributed solutions.

Strong understanding of utility industry standards, protocols, and regulations related to smart grid systems and interoperability.

Experience with Oracle Utilities offerings (Customer Care and Billing, MDM, Smart Grid Gateway etc.), technology and its application within utility environments is a big plus.

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver complex technical programs within large utilities customers.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.

Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic and results-oriented mindset.

Project management certifications such as PMP or PgMP are a plus.

Willingness to travel as required to customer sites for project meetings and reviews.
