Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. HUS has four business units. Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is our electrical components and infrastructure business. Aclara is our AMI and Meters business and also includes an installation business. Hubbell Gas Connectors and Accessories (HGCA) sells connectors and accessories for the repair, replacement and refurbishment of natural gas systems. Our fourth business is our Protection and Controls business which is our newest business initiative to drive substation communications, control and protection solutions. Position Overview

Performs repair, rework and modifications on thru-hole and surface-mount modules. Applies exceptional hand-soldering skills on thru-hole and surface mount boards. Trains assemblers on new methods for efficient repair and rework of products. Assembles printed circuit boards, thru-hole and surface-mount, utilizes various manufacturing tools and equipment including microscope. Use work order package and utilize on-line bar code reporting system for labor and manufacturing quantities.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Assembles and wires basic and complex electronic boards, thru-hole and surface-mount, and equipment following assembly documentation.
* Analyzes assembly errors and develops procedures and solutions to efficiently rework boards at minimum cost.
* Performs repairs to printed circuit boards, reworks defective manufacturing assemblies and refurbishes used assemblies.
* Responsible for modifying printed circuit boards per engineering change notices.
* Assembles prototype boards for Engineering.
* Operates riveting machine and utilizes hand and power tools.
* Trains other assemblers on soldering, assembling, rework and repair.
* Uses work order package and on-line bar code reporting system for labor and manufacturing quantities.
* Works overtime as required.
* Strives to meet prescribed quality standards in an ISO environment.

Skills and Experience

* Minimum of 5 years electronic assembly experience.
* Must be able to read blueprints and schematics, identify components and color codes.
* Must be creative in troubleshooting and/or repairing assemblies.
* Requires excellent soldering skills with thru-hole and surface-mount components.
* Must be cooperative and have good communication skills.
