What will you do?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Remuneration and Benefits Manager to join the People and Capability team.This role will partner with People & Capability and senior leaders across the Kmart Group to provide analysis, interpret results, conduct job evaluations and make recommendations that support the development and maintenance of effective remuneration aligned with Kmart Group (Kmart, Target, Catch, KAS Services) reward strategy.
You will also engage and manage cross-functional stakeholder groups to execute key Remuneration and Benefits programs and projects, as well as provide ongoing support and expert advice. As a Remuneration and Benefits Manager you will lead and assist in the enhancement of the team member benefits offering across Kmart Group and plan and deliver the annual rem review, bonus calculation process.
Based between both the Target State Support Office in Williams Landing (West Melbourne) and Kmart’s National Office in Mulgrave, this role reports to the Head of Remuneration and Benefits and will form a critical position within the Kmart Group Remuneration and Benefits team.

Key responsibilities include:
- Proficient in cloud-based HR software, specifically Success Factors
- Ability to explain remuneration and HR concepts to all levels of management, including Executive Leadership Team
- Demonstrated understanding of various employment and tax legislation
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and high attention to detail
- Strong numerical and analysis skills
- Advanced Excel and intermediate Word
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, high volume, multi-task and prioritise
- Customer-focused
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will preferably have a tertiary qualification or postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources as well as being certified in Mercer or Hay job evaluation. It is critical to have relevant depth and breadth of experience in a similar role at least 5-7 plus years remuneration and benefits experience in a fast-paced environment, extensive experience completing job evaluations including restructures and organisational design and people leadership experience in addition to a global mindset is a criteria to be successful in this dynamic role.
Strategic thinking is essential as is proven experience in the ability to quickly build rapport and effectively communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders, along with a ‘can do’ attitude and customer first mentality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports which contain quantitative and qualitative data analysis, along with relevant, impactful and realistic recommendations is also required to successfully perform this role.
