What will you be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Workplace Propositions team at Scottish Widows during a period of significant market growth. This diverse and challenging role plays an integral part in our ambition to be the number one provider in the workplace market.
As Assistant Propositions Manager you'll support our workplace pensions business, giving you the opportunity to be truly entrepreneurial and create something new. Along with working on developments across our wide workplace business, with over £80bn assets under management, you'll have the chance to help shape the strategic direction of our fast-growing Master Trust.
Within this role individuals understand what makes the difference to customers, clients and advisers to enable good customer outcomes and win/retain schemes. Your mix of knowledge, core skills and subject matter expertise allows you to identify needs, manage complex arguments and develop these into action via new projects, decision making papers, governance papers, or messages to market.
Our team works out of our Edinburgh and Gloucester hubs, therefore ideally you'll be based a commutable distance from one of these areas however, location can be flexible for this role due to new ways of working. We work in a hybrid model, splitting our time between the office and working from home but colleagues have flexibility to choose where they work from.
Additional accountabilities will include:
Uses workplace expertise to provide support for all aspects of the end to end proposition development to ensure it achieves its full value in the market
Completes analysis and research, quickly identifies the appropriate sector information sources, implements appropriate analytical techniques, and communicates a way forward
Supports the team with sector and regulatory horizon scanning, proactively identifying where new projects are required to meet new customer need or regulatory/legal requirements
Is a catalyst to break down the barriers to change, managing propositional improvements from initial idea generation through to implementation
Supports risk management and compliance with Group procedures to avoid financial or reputational loss to the Group through poor customer outcomes or business conduct
Supports development of customer journeys to improve the retirement of members and build treatment strategies for vulnerable customers
What we'll need from you:
Awareness of product governance process and principles and able to lead on areas to develop the appropriate control structure
Knowledge of the competitive landscape for workplace pensions, the regulatory environment and our key products
Commercially aware, understands the drivers of value for the workplace business
An ability to makes sense of the complex and work with uncertainty, can identify appropriate information sources and complete research to identify customer need and translate this into solutions for the workplace pensions market
Excellent written and verbal skills with experience of writing governance reports or project approval papers, drafting high quality presentations and preparing external communications
Consistently achieves results, even under tough circumstances, and takes on new opportunities with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
