Lloyds Bank Financial Sponsors (FS) is a leading private markets fund finance franchise which operates in a growing global market.
FS is a well-established business and a key part of the Sponsors & Structured Finance group, and the wider Corporate & Institutional Coverage (CIC) business.
The global team is located in London & New York City and is responsible for managing the Bank’s relationship with the world’s leading private market fund managers and the fund structures they manage. The managers operate across the private equity (including direct LBO, fund of funds and secondaries), private debt, private infrastructure, and private real estate asset classes.
Clients are headquartered in the UK and internationally and invest in real world operating businesses and / or projects. Client relationships are long standing and deeply embedded and produce high quality lending and associated risk management opportunities.
The team is multi-disciplined and is both a product and a coverage group. Responsible for both the direct origination, structuring, execution and management of investor recourse and asset backed fund finance loans and comprehensive relationship coverage. Including driving complimentary ancillary business in tandem with key product partners, such as foreign exchange.
The team operates a matrix client coverage structure, and the Associate Director (AD) role is at the heart of its successful operation. Reporting to a Director, the successful candidate will have responsibility for a dedicated client set within the overall FS portfolio. You will generate, structure, execute and manage new lending, as well as portfolio management of existing senior loans which can span the fund finance risk spectrum.
These include investor recourse / capital call facilities, through to asset backed gearing / leverage facilities, General Partner co-invest and management company financings. As noted, complimentary ancillary products will be transacted by an appropriate product partner although the job holder will be responsible for any associated risk limits.
Accountabilities:
- Responsibility for a specific set of existing FS clients which will span private markets asset classes.
- Originate, structure, execute and manage new bilateral and syndicated fund finance debt opportunities across the product spectrum., with a view to achieving an appropriate risk / reward balance
- Manage existing loan assets (all aspects including but not limited to, analysis of ongoing fund performance and monitoring of utilisations and repayments) which are currently deployed to the specific client set. This includes managing and executing all credit renewals and ancillary credit limits.
- Prepare and present credit and investment committee proposals in line with the above. This includes internal FS forums and those external to the business including the formal sanctioning chain.
- Manage KYC / OKYC & bank accounts across a dedicated client set.
- Coach, mentor and develop Associates.
Essential:
A motivated self-starter with direct relevant experience in private markets investing, including fund finance, leveraged finance or equity, either funds or direct. A strong practical understanding of credit risk in the fund finance environment. Proven ability to build and manage relationships with a highly sophisticated client set.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates and will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks
