Job Description

The Growth Analytics function engage with teams throughout the business, using data and analytics to inform growth initiatives and drive improved performance. Current capabilities include:

• Client transactional analysis, including away spend and growth indicators
• Product propensity modelling and Machine Learning capability
• Analysis of external data including SME and MC market share
• Application across Commercial Banking, including colleague tools, colleague initiatives, and analysis to inform direct channels marketing activity
• Collaboration with other Client Products teams including proposition development and product innovation

A Data Analyst role in Growth Analytics provides the unique opportunity to develop your analytical abilities as well as putting it to use with measurable results.

Key objectives of the role include:

• Maintenance, improvement and governance of Growth Analytics’ data infrastructure including Commercial Banking’s Transactional Classification System (TCS)
• Development of new analytical insights, models and tools including use of new data sources
• Engagement with partners throughout the business to embed intelligent use of analytics

Key competencies:

• Highly numerate, with strong analytical skills
• Use of Teradata/ SQL/ Python is a requirement of this role. Previous experience is an advantage; otherwise you'll demonstrate a desire to learn
• Exposure to or an interest in developing knowledge of Statistical Modelling/ Machine Learning techniques (e.g. random forest)

• Enjoys taking ownership of and delivering quality solutions to complex problems, with support from the wider team
• Critical and questioning
• Good verbal and written interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate sophisticated analysis to a non-technical audience in a clear, confident and concise manner
