Based in Morrisville, North Carolina, Nufarm is looking for a Director, Regulatory Affairs reporting to the VP, Portfolio Solutions. This is a leadership position within the Portfolio Solutions team that directs the activities and strategy of the US Regulatory team, to meet the team’s goals and objectives. The Regulatory team works with cross-functional teams to manage all regulatory needs required to register and maintain a portfolio of technical grade active ingredients, associated manufacturing concentrates and end use products required to support Nufarm’s sales in the USA.

  • Develop, direct, and manage the Nufarm US Regulatory team to ensure all team members achieve their goals which are aligned with the business goals of the North American region
  • Select and maintain qualified personnel for positions within areas of responsibility and recommend proper compensation. Provide orientation and training for new employees. Identify training needs and initiate development of subordinates and monitor individual and team performance. Initiate effective personnel actions as required.
  • Responsible for providing regulatory expertise and insight that promote product line development, performance, enhance competitive position in the regulatory environment, ensure compliance of assigned product line with applicable pesticide law and promote product portfolio.
  • Oversee the defence of US federal and state registrations to maintain and support product portfolio
  • Represent Nufarm on task forces that are beneficial to Nufarm Americas.
  • Develop regulatory strategies and quality FIFRA submission packages to execute company goals and obtain product registrations.
  • Strive to ensure there are no business disruptions for regulatory issues and place contingencies in place when disruptions do occur.
  • Participate in defining and developing concepts for new products and setting criteria for acceptable ingredients for new formulations.
  • Serve as a pesticide registration knowledge expert with Nufarm.
  • Represent Nufarm interests to assigned Industry trade associations (CLA, RISE).
  • Represent Nufarm in Data Compensation matters.
  • Proactively advise management on issues pertaining to the assigned product registration and interpret regulation changes in a manner that allows Business Managers to assess future impact.
  • Oversee labelling compliance for product registrations.
  • Develop, maintain, and effectively manage group budgets

Nufarm is looking for someone with a Graduate Degree (MS, PhD) in life sciences, agronomy, chemistry or agriculture related discipline. Also required is 10+ years’ experience in US EPA pesticide registration, preferably in an agricultural context. Is your work experience in the area of chemical regulatory affairs, agriculture, chemistry, toxicology, weed science, agronomy, plant pathology entomology, environmental chemistry or plant biochemistry? The right candidate will be hands-on, politically savvy and take initiative in the field of Regulatory Affairs. Do you have excellent people management, interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills?
