Our company is growing rapidly, and we are looking for the right Global Financial Controller to manage the Nuseed Group’s financial, management and treasury practices, processes, and systems, ensuring financial information is timely, accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting and taxation principles & standards This role, based at our state-of-the-art West Sacramento Innovations Center will work across multiple international entities with diverse operations. You will lead these responsibilities through your network of Regional Financial Controllers, their Accountants and support staff. You will be required to work according to agreed business & statutory reporting timeframes with a hands-on approach and have specific responsibilities to both the Group and Regions for Sales, P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Management.
The Opportunity:
- Provide excellent leadership and management of Global & Regional Finance, measured by the effectiveness, engagement, and business unit respect of the team.
- Build productive working relationships with all stakeholders to understand their business operations and their financial information needs.
- Manage relationships with others across the Group to achieve alignment on key business strategies and decisions.
- Lead the Group’s financial reporting obligations, with responsibility for preparation and lodgment of compliant monthly, half year and full year entity and consolidated accounts.
- Manage the Group’s cash flows within available facilities, providing appropriate reporting to the Nuseed Executive Team and Nufarm Treasury
- In conjunction with the Nufarm Tax Team, manage the Group’s tax accounting & taxation obligations with full responsibility for preparation and lodgment of appropriate returns.
- Collaborate, design, implement and review finance systems, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and contemporary relevant practices.
- Oversee the teams working with finance systems managing transaction flows from source to general ledger and ultimately reporting.
- Ensure finance ledgers are maintained on a timely basis, are accurate and complete, and structured for the dual purpose of providing relevant information to internal users and meeting Nufarm and statutory obligations.
- Ensure reporting functions and responses to ad hoc requests for financial related information are appropriately delivered.
- In conjunction with the Nuseed FP&A Team, prepare the periodic forecast, annual budget, and Long-Range Plan.
- Perform the accounting function for the Nuseed Global Management entity.
- Undertake a range of other activities, in conjunction with other members of the business and finance team including but not limited to, asset financing, business administration, control activities, external & internal audits, governance, insurance management and risk.
- Development and management of the Nuseed Financial Reporting team, including but not limited to, coaching, hiring, mentoring, and training staff.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading diverse teams and at least 10 years in senior finance leadership positions, preferably in global businesses with, at a minimum, Controllership, IFRS Financial reporting, management reporting and FP&A experience. At a minimum, this role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or Commerce and a CPA/CA designation. A Business MBA and Oil or Seed Industry experience/knowledge is desirable as well as the ability to work in a self-prioritized environment with minimal supervision.
Salary Range: $185,000 - $230,000 USD
Nuseed takes several factors into consideration when determining salary ranges. These factors include, but are not limited to, candidate experience, education, geographical location, and industry. Nuseed roles are incentive eligible and offer a robust benefit package that are not reflected in the noted salary range.
