Position Summary
Government Affairs Director contributes to strategic planning and directs engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the goals of the carinata business. Develops plans, policies, to build relationships and liaise with government entities (Federal and States) that regulate of influence renewable/clean fuel activities
Position Objectives & Primary Responsibilities
- Directs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact to the carinata business.
- Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve carinata business objectives
- Collaborates with NGO groups and organizations to educate and support carinata business objectives
- Work internally with communications and marketing to create communications vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support internal stakeholders
- Build coalitions and expand relationships with key decision-makers, policymakers, and federal, state and local elected officials.
- Participate in the development of policy positions, strategies, and execution of tactics to influence state and federal legislative activity.
- Inform, coordinate, and mobilize Nuseed carinata’s participation in grassroots advocacy efforts to achieve government relations goals.
Position-Specific Skills & Experience Required
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in public policy or public administration
- Minimum 7 years of government affairs experience and with NGOs and industry groups
- Previous experience managing programs for federal and/or state initiatives. Renewable/Clean Fuel issues a plus (desired but not required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with prior experience in creating and delivering public presentations
- Highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
Salary Range: $150-200K USD
Nuseed takes several factors into consideration when determining salary ranges. These factors include, but are not limited to, candidate experience, education, geographical location, and industry. Nuseed roles are incentive eligible and offer a robust benefit package that are not reflected in the noted salary range.
