Role Summary
As a part time Marketing Communications Intern, this position will take a proactive role on the Nufarm Marketing and Communication and customer & Brand marketing teams, assisting with processes and projects related to marketing communications deliverables in 2023. Working 20 hours a week, you will learn how we utilize social media, content development, public relations and industry event to be effective.
This role provides the position holder with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment with valuable on-the-job experience through contact with professionals in their field of study. With a focus on digital and traditional marketing communications, the interns will be responsible for digital marketing asses, conducting relevant research and datamining and writing (articles, white papers, press releases, and social media) content for both internal (employees) and external (media, customer) consumption. The interns will gain exposure to many aspects of the communications process, while learning about the turf, ornamental and crop protection industry and brand management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Promote the great work being done across our company in a story telling format through written articles or videos.
- Support the North American sales team by assisting with marcom deliverables (Product Information Bulletin, Product Guides, etc.)
- Help collect and generate content (written and multi-media) for our marketing communications database, social media, quarterly internal newsletter, digital signage boards and other places.
- Assist and lead website content management, document and contact database organization and management.
- Occasionally travel to our manufacturing facilities, our customer, industry events, planning sessions, meetings at other locations for marketing projects.
- Attend meetings and other learning opportunities throughout length of internship.
- Other tasks assigned based on the chosen candidate’s desires for professional development.
Skill Set Requirements and Minimum Education Requirements
- Applicants must be enrolled as a Junior or Senior and be pursuing a degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications/Journalism, or similar at an accredited school.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
- Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Primarily PowerPoint)
- Proficiency working with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, or video editing software is an advantage
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience or aptitude with digital content management platforms for social media, web publishing and document editing
Expected Commitment:
- This is a part-time position with a target minimum of 20 hours per week. The specific workdays and hours will be flexible, but agreed upon with the hiring manager
