The Role
String and Key is seeking an experienced Release / Project Manager to join our small team of 60+ members either remotely within the U.S. or on a hybrid basis at one of our offices in Durham, NC or Brooklyn, NY. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a strong understanding of release and program management standards and processes, and has a proven history of successfully working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
As a Release / Project Manager your primary responsibility is to manage the release process. This includes helping to define and grow the standards of release management at String and Key. The Release / Project Manager owns coordinating and managing software releases while working collaboratively with the engineering, testing, deployment, and product teams.
In special cases we will look for the Release / Project Manager to help us deliver sophisticated projects on time and within scope. Working with cross-functional teams and Executive Leadership to devise, initiate, implement, and supervise project plans using agreed resources. Due to the nature of the role and its relation to key stakeholders. We will be looking for those who are east coast or central time.
What You’ll Do
- Schedule, manage and coordinate releases across multiple software applications across different teams and projects
- Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality of delivery
- Work with vendors to align vendor/third party release cadence
- Generating release notifications and release summaries
- Maintain documentation and publish release management standards, plans, and procedures
- Measure and monitor progress against planned release lifecycle; establishing metrics and reporting against them
- Improve the software release processes and build related Release Plans and maintaining a centralized view of all product releases
- Assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestones are met in accordance with goals and schedules
- Orchestrates and prepares internal stakeholder status meetings
- Maintain communication with partners, vendors, and other resources
- Distribute progress updates and progress-to-plan
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years of Release Management, (consumer-facing mobile apps preferred), Project Management or equivalent experience
- Functional and technical knowledge of Release and Change Management processes
- Familiarity and experience with agile engineering practices
- Capable of facilitating clear, productive, and empathetic communication across multiple teams
- Ownership mentality over projects using time management, prioritization, and good judgment to overcome any roadblocks
- A detail-oriented disposition and clear concise communication skills are a must
- Ability to juggle multiple disparate projects
- Experience in Incident Management and postmortem ceremonies
