Job Overview
This team lead position is about transforming our first two SAP ME pilot implementations into a deployable and maintainable MES platform. Similar like we have built this platform for our Hydra environment in the past decade, this job is about creating and organizing the same for the SAP ME platform.
To do so he/she will lead and build our team of SAP ME specialists and work with external integrators to come to a best-in-class solution platform and RTD package.
On top of this he/she will lead our team of project managers responsible for all projects in the DMS Architectural team.
Overall Responsibilities:
1. Leading & building the team of SAP ME specialists with the following end-to-end goals:
a. Create a standard SAP ME template platform with the two pilot implementations as a starting point.
b. This template must support all Sensors plants, both wafer fabs as well as assembly plants.
c. Define and implement a security, systems & change management.
d. Create a maintainable TE SAP ME platform & create procedures to support it & defining KPI’s to measure it so we can handover this RTD package to our support and deployment teams.
e. Optimize & expand the ME functionalities to increase adoption and value for the Sensors BU (including in process quality, reporting & scheduling functionalities). Other BU’s might follow.
f. Deploying the new RTD package to our first few sites.
2. Leading the group of Project Managers in the Data Acquisition Architecture team. Optimizing the way our projects are being run & work on standardization in this area.
3. Contributing team-member for our Digital Manufacturing Architecture team. Actively participating in the MES benchmark project to review the best future MES solution for TE BU’s.
4. Engaging other IT resources from TEIS / TEIS-DMS and BU plant personnel to deliver MES & DF solutions.
5. Coordination of Digital Factory Design Reviews related to SAP ME and coordination with other TE-internal Technology partners.
6. Developing strong working relationship with SAP ME integrators to stay current on development roadmap, introduction/enhancement to MES modules, best development/architecture practices and help drive/align future development for TE.
7. Partnering with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological R&D efforts or discrete Capability Development.
What your background should look like:
Competencies & Experience Required/Desired:
1. 2+ years leading teams as a team lead or project manager in IT related teams and / or organizations
2. 5+ years MES & digital factory experience customizing/configuring and deploying MES applications
3. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing all phases of defining MES requirements, developing DF solutions, coordinating with software vendors and deployment/supporting plant solutions.
4. Good knowledge of MES systems & functionalities.
5. Strong Communication (verbal and written) skills in English. Knowledge of German is a nice-to-have.
6. The ability to drive to a technical consensus when the technical path may be cloudy
7. Ability to define, establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards
8. Experience building teams
9. Experience designing, integrating, and managing (partial) complex MES solutions
10. Good SQL and database design knowledge required. Programming experience is a plus.
11. Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, applications, and infrastructure
12. SAP experience including MES-SAP integration
13. Global experience preferably in a large global company
14. Solid understanding of the discrete manufacturing operational processes: machine connectivity and data collection, manufacturing automation (scada/hmi), material planning/scheduling, manufacturing capacity planning, guided work instructions, tooling management, optimizing plant efficiency (OEE), improving quality and improving order fulfillment quality management, etc
Educational Required/Desired:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study or related experience required.
Master’s degree preferred.
