Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Shift and Schedule

This position is located on our 1st shift which works 6am-4pm Monday through Thursday. Overtime is available and may be required during times of increased volume.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate CNC Star SR10J Screw Machines
  • Support all aspects of screw machining from raw material loading to chip reclaiming
  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures
  • Work with team to trouble shoot setup, operation, and/or flow issues
  • Communicate issues with team leads, technicians and other shifts
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards, and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Meet documented and communicated standards for quality and productivity
  • Keep records of production quantities and time
  • Work safely with small hand tools, and measuring equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Experience with operating CMM’s
  • Regularly adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet print specifications
  • Works under minimal supervision and acts independently
  • Provides guidance and training to others

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Strong understanding of blue prints and geometric tolerancing
  • Willingness and ability to train additional associates
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Use independent judgement and basic problem-solving skills to accomplish tasks
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions, with a high attention to detail, and self-motivation skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime to meet company demands
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Associates degree from a trade school and/or job-related vocational training
  • 10+ years, relevant work experience
  • Due to ITAR restrictions, US Citizenship of US lawful Permanent Residency is required for this position
  • Experience with G&M Coding
