Job Responsibilities

The typical responsibilities of this position includes:
- Performing a full range of close tolerance manual machining processes at the skilled trade level, including making new or replacement machine parts.
- Operating all common machine tools, such as lathe, boring mill, miller, drill press, grinders, etc.and associated measuring tools.
- Set-up and operation all standard machining tools & equipment

- Repair of existing tooling- Making prototypes
- Making parts to close tolerances
- Performing Basic Set-ups and assisting the assembly team as required.

- May adapt procedures, techniques, tools, material and/or equipment to meet special needs.

- This position requires some independent judgment and initiative to accomplish tasks.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum High School Diploma, good communication skills, and the ability to apply skills in area of specialization, typically acquired through a combination of job-related vocational training and relevant work experience (4+ years). Ability to understand working properties of common metals, reading complicated blueprints, and understanding use of coolants and lubricants is also required.

Good communication skills are required. Bilingual a plus. Must be willing to work both independently and in a team.

Capable of utilizing a computer or desktop (ie. Microsoft Office and SAP)

Pneumatic assembly experience.a plus

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $49,200 - $73,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
