Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Trade Compliance Teams interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.
Position Summary: Assist in the planning, organizing, and implementing of the company or corporate policies and procedures that ensure adequate compliance with all applicable export and import regulatory requirements. Works directly with the business unit compliance team and departments to implement and embed critical elements of the TE Aerospace Defense & Marine trade compliance program. Areas of knowledge include but are not limited to jurisdiction & classification, export licensing, technology control plans, facility management, technology marking, and transfers.
Major Job Functions: Jurisdiction and Classification Analyst
A. Product and Technology Classification
⦁ Work with appropriate personnel to determine ITAR and EAR jurisdiction and to determine proper export classification (USML category or ECCN) for both hardware and technology.
⦁ Manage and oversee the jurisdiction and classification program integration relative to product, technology, and services classification.
⦁ Responsible for classifying assemblies and components according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and updating types when the tariff schedule is revised.
⦁ Coordinate with vendors on commodity classification determinations.
⦁ Prepare Commodity Jurisdiction and Commodity Classification request as needed.
B. Technology/Technical Data Handling
⦁ Experience in the marking, handling, export, re-export, transfer, and storage of technical data/technology.
⦁ Implement the GTS marking policy with AD&M program managers, compliance personnel, engineering, document control, and IT.
⦁ Creation of data transfer policy and process, including transfer log/database design and internal storage.
⦁ Assist with analysis, advice, and guidance on technical data/technology migration.
⦁ Facility Management experience, including Technology Control Plans
C. Policies and Procedures
⦁ Assist in the development and implementation of GTS policies and procedures.
⦁ Assist in the development of work instructions and function-specific tools.
⦁ Assist in the development of a technology transfer policy, including requirements, standard work, and training
D. Recordkeeping and Audit
⦁ Responsible for ensuring that all regulatory and TE recordkeeping requirements are met
⦁ Assist in the coordination and implementation of periodic audits of company records for compliance with applicable regulations
⦁ Provide technical advice and guidance regarding safeguarding data related to controlled products, technology, and services.
What your background should look like:
Requirements:
⦁ Four-year degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related technical field.
⦁ 5-7 years of experience in international trade compliance related to export and import activities.
⦁ Strong working knowledge of import and export regulations, including expert knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the U.S. Import Regulations (19 CFR), and the International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR), as well as others that may apply.
⦁ Strong jurisdiction & classification skills.
⦁ The position requires strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
⦁ Demonstrated experience leading and driving organizational change
⦁ Computer skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
⦁ Other duties as assigned.
⦁ Able to travel as required.
⦁ Able to relocate as needed.
⦁ Applicants will need expert skills in Jurisdiction & Classification of hardware and technical data/technology and will be tested on those skills.

COMPENSATION
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $70,700 - $106,100(subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
- Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
