Job Overview:
As a DevOps / Automation Intern, you will be part of a global team responsible for the development of automation strategies using Ansible Core and Ansible Tower. The individual will work as part of a team automating distributed data center infrastructure and cloud solutions and will develop an automation framework focused on the standardization, simplification, and consolidation of the environment all while delivering on scalability.
Basic Requirements:
- Learn the duties and responsibilities of the Global IT Modernization Virtual Infrastructure Team
- Participate in business process reviews and help identify opportunities for development and automation.
- Work collaboratively with the Server, Storage, and Backup engineering teams to create and deploy automation solutions for a distributed data center infrastructure environment.
- Participate in the creation of solutions and technical implementations aligned with the automation program objectives.
Responsibilities:
- 1+ years' exposure to software development tools and techniques is required.
- Knowledge of Ansible Tower and SolarWinds monitoring is a plus.
- Work with senior team leads to provide automation solutions to Server, Storage, and Backup teams
- Understanding of automation practices and configuration is a plus.
- Knowledge of scripting tools such as Python, PowerShell, YAML, Bash, Batch files, etc., is a plus
- Exposure or knowledge working with Operating Systems such as RHEL 7, RHEL 8, Windows 2016 and Windows 2019 System Administration is plus
- Work with senior team members to perform maintenance and configuration of supported systems and environment.
- Assist with the development, configuration, and administration of DevOps and IT automation solutions
- Work with senior team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, QA, and production environments
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies is a plus.
- Must have effective communication skills.
- Proficient in communications and presentation skills is a plus.
What your background should look like:
Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, Computer Science or a related major
Currently enrolled in an accredited University or College for the duration of the Internship

COMPENSATION
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $18.00-27.00/hourly (subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
