Job Summary
The Head of Global Payroll and Time & Attendance Services is a senior leader within TE Connectivity’s HR team who will report directly to the Vice President, Global HR Shared Service, HR Technology and Workforce Analytics. This role is responsible for leading the service delivery of Payroll processing and Time & Attendance Services across 50+ countries using both in-house and managed services approaches. The right candidate will provide strategic vision and roadmap as well as lead the execution and day-to-day Payroll operations while working closely with HR Shared Services leaders, HR site leaders, COE leaders, Corporate Tax, Internal Audit, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees Payroll and Time & Attendance policies, procedures, and systems to ensure timely and accurate payment of our global workforce.
- Sets global Payroll & Time strategy and enable team to execute on that strategy.
- Leads the monitoring of all Payrolls to ensure audit procedures exist to identify risk (both departmental and SOX).
- Owns all key processes and controls to ensure risks are identified and the correct controls are in place to eliminate or reduce risk.
- Leads Payroll compliance to ensure compliance with existing and emerging compliance regulations on a global basis.
- Keeps up to date with new and changing tax and other regulations legislation impacting payroll & time design, delivery, and reporting.
- Provides guidance to leadership related to changes in the payroll regulatory environment, especially in the United States and Switzerland.
- Leads expat payroll processes (Global Mobility Payroll) to properly handle withholding and tax reporting for globally mobile members of our workforce – including tax equalization, and shadow payrolls.
- Manages vendor relationships with payroll vendors and external consulting firms.
- Sponsors and champions continuous improvement projects focused on process excellence. Recommends and implements changes to establish payroll best practices.
- Ensures operational processes and guidelines are updated and aligned with tax and other regulatory requirements and operational excellence goals.
- Contributes to M&A activities related to the onboarding of new companies by ensuring compliance and establishing the entity set within the enterprise structure.
- Acts as a leader who will recognize opportunities as well as potential risks and be capable of developing strategies to mitigate risks.
- Ensures strong customer service and communication from payroll to employees globally.
- Establishes and manage annual payroll budget.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
- CPA is a plus
- 10+ years of experience in leading global payroll teams across different time zones and countries.
- Exceptional knowledge of payroll services and compliance requirements, including expertise in U.S. tax regulations, regulatory reporting, internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), general ledger, time tracking solutions, and expatriate payroll.
- Experience in leading process excellence and performance improvement.
- Extensive experience with lean and 6 Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in engaging and managing 3rd party Payroll, Time & Attendance, Tax, and Expat service providers.
- Experience with managing under Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and other performance metrics that monitor on-going activities.
- A track record of transformation with a strategic vision for the team and an ability to execute.
- Position is remote but located in the United States.

COMPENSATION
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $144,900 - $217,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
