TE Connectivity in Greensboro, NC is looking for a Program Manager to own implementation of the GLOG's automation strategy. Design value stream mapping, use the existing as a baseline; identify opportunities for improvement, start improvement process, drive to project completion and stabilization. This includes identifying and implementing small to large scope integrated automation projects with system elements such as high-speed sortation, multiple conveyors, package lines, and/or robotic work cells. Take ownership, manage, and deliver automation projects that will drive waste reduction, equipment reliability, overall operational efficiency within the warehouse environment in collaboration with in-house innovation teams, design and build groups and external 3PL vendors. Identify and execute Warehouse Automation Capacity projects that enable growth and deliver needed capacity at key locations. Research and identify end-to-end solutions that drive warehouse automation decisions. Responsible for managing and developing roadmaps, project scope, machine specification document (hardware (MHE) and software (WCS, WMS)), modeling and simulation efforts, site layout identification, budgetary costs, schedule, acceptance criteria, launch, metrics analysis, stabilization, and standardization efforts for capital automation projects. Work cross-functionally and interdepartmentally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building a sustainable automation infrastructure with in house and third-party vendors. Define future business requirements from an automation perspective, conduct financial analyses (ROI) and define acceptable OEE for planned automation equipment. Display high levels of expertise in applying principles of project management and lead the organization from conceptual stage to launch and stabilization. Lead and collaborate with inhouse and external vendors in custom concept development, prototype testing and reviewing, engineering design, and reviewing, system build reviews, integration testing plan and handoff to local operations team. Identify and communicate needs for design improvements on existing automated processes. Direct system commissioning and predefined testing activities, including administering the plan, interpreting statuses, and reporting results to leadership. Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance, and safety practices are followed for new automation equipment. Thoroughly document/investigate change requests on automation equipment and provide recommendations. Must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment. Balance multiple project deliverables and competing priorities. Travel to various distribution and fulfillment centers in North America & Mexico 50% travel.

What your background should look like:

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 2 years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.

Special Requirements: Requires 2 years of experience with the following:
1) Process Simulation & Cycle Count Analysis.
2) Supplier & Customer Interaction.
3) Computer Aided Drawing & Mechanical Design.
4) Excel.
5) Machine Design.
Requires 50% domestic/international travel. May require employment and background checks.
