Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented individual to work directly with Hampton Quality Manager as a Quality Engineer. This is a high-energy position responsible for performing initial investigative analysis of customer complaints, potentially taking a leading role in electrical, mechanical, and/or environmental testing of suspected defective sensors products. The role will also involve meeting corporate quality goals for the site, performing customer contract reviews for customer specific requirements, and auditing assembly and QMS processes.

Responsibilities:


  • Must be a US Person
  • Maintain and comply to the requirements of AS9100 regulations.
  • Strong contact review experience with a background in AS9100 and Military Customer Requirements/ Compliance
  • Ability to perform audits and source inspections to AS9100 and Military requirements
  • Plan and execute initial failure analysis of the failed sensors with the support of cross functional Hampton Team.
  • Contribute to drive the root cause analysis and robust corrective action for confirmed defects.
  • Take leadership role on failure discussion using the 8D approach
  • Drive the containment actions for reported issues with TE sensors
  • Work with engineering teams to understand sensor function and manufacturing processes and associated documents (DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.)
  • Manage weekly/monthly defect reports and metrics
  • Organize and facilitate monthly meetings to review department quality metrics and continuous improvement action items.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to promote employee engagement
  • Lead, act and participate in corporate TECHS (customer returns) and TEOA (continuous improvement) endeavors.

  • Bachelors Degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional level experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Standard and Requirements.
  • Formal Product/Process Auditing experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of GD&T a plus
  • Ability to operate computer aided measurement systems a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP MRP system a plus
  • Ability to work well with others of diverse backgrounds
  • Must be capable of multitasking, and have a willingness to shift priorities as business pressures demand

  • Clear, strategic thinker with the ability to execute on priorities

COMPENSATION


  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $94,160 – $141,240 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
