Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing/Production Teams transform raw materials into finished goods and ensure component flow. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Your Role

  • Sets up, operates, and verifies the quality of product in 2 out of 3 types welding operations in the TIG department:
  • Soldering/brazing
  • TIG welding lathes/equipment
  • Hand held operations
  • Writes set up sheets to define processes
  • Identifies and segregates non conforming parts.
  • Works with engineering to develop new processes/jobs
  • Monitors variations in program sequence, e.g., positioning, cycle time, etc., and makes corrections.
  • Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions with minimal direction.
  • Reports problems to Supervisor/leads in the area.
  • Runs production and performs other functions, such as assembly, when required.
  • Evaluates job performance compared to established production and quality standards, and suggests changes when encountered.
  • Maintains required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications.
  • Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices.
  • Instructs or assists others as needed.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.
  • Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Keeps management informed of job, machine, and equipment related problems as well as any other information related to work activity.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
  • Performs multiple operations as required.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of welding experience, preferably in a job shop environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient at using a microscope
  • Working knowledge of gases used in welding applications.
  • Proficient at understanding blueprints.
