We are currently seeking two Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our team in our Sydney based office. While both opportunities would be a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Services engineer looking for a change, one position will be specializing in Data Centres projects, while the other has a focus on Healthcare projects. Please be sure to indicate if you have a specific preference or area of expertise in your application!
About you:
We are looking for team members who are passionate about quality, integrated design and who feel excited about the prospect of joining a highly collaborative team working on some of Australia’s most interesting projects. In addition to your strong technical base, you’ll bring practical expertise in project management and a track record of superb client care. You will also possess:
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar;

Chartership with the Institute of Engineers (Australia) – IE Aust, or Chartership with equivalent associations in other countries preferred;

Previous experience in a building services engineering/design consultancy, and enjoy working in large teams on complex projects;

Experience in the operation of software design tools including Revit and Mechanical modelling packages;

Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate and develop relationships with colleagues, clients and industry peer groups;

An ability to independently undertake project and technical analyses, and advise clients on cost-effective, sustainable solutions;

Project management experience on small to medium sized projects and ability to contribute to multidisciplinary technical / design input;

A natural knowledge sharer, you will be excited to guide the professional development and skill sharing with junior team members;
Data centre role:
If you are interested in the data centre role, in addition to previous data centre industry experience, laboratory experience would be viewed favourably.
Healthcare role:
Experience working on delivering health related projects- including knowledge of medical gas systems and pneumatic tube, as well as HVAC is required. Experience in education projects would also be viewed favourably.
About the roles
Working in the Building Group team in Sydney, the Senior Mechanical Engineers will be an integral part of our Building Services group. Day to day responsibilities and duties will include:

Integrated mechanical engineering design for all stages of a project;

Participation in the review, supervision, and development of technical skills in the Mechanical Engineering team;

Project management of smaller and medium sized projects and technical input on a broad range of projects;

Supporting business development-related activities or relationships with clients;

Providing detailed design work across a broad range of projects;

Leading the technical / design input, ensuring a focus on quality;

Developing systems and concepts for a sustainable approach to Building Engineering design;

Providing input into the ongoing skill development within the mechanical team through such activities as the mentoring of less-experienced staff members; researching/developing innovative technical/design applications and/or procedures; and playing a key support role to senior leadership in related activities;
