Director, Product Management
Lodging partners – notably hoteliers, vacation rental owners and property managers – use a suite of tools within a complex travel distribution ecosystem in order to setup, manage and optimize their businesses. As the Director of Product Management for an in-house incubator, you will analyze market trends and identify Expedia’s opportunity(ies) for growth so as to define, gather buy in for, and execute the product roadmap.
What you'll do:
Be the holistic lead defining the holistic product strategy, roadmap and offering in support of growth potential
Own market research and product discovery working closely with the commercial, operational, marketing, research and product development teams across all three Expedia Group divisions
Uncover new insights based on data, interactions with external supply and software partners, an understanding of the travel ecosystem, and your proven experience
Collaborate with internal stakeholders at every step of the way, incorporating each team’s perspective into developing the whole picture and communicating to ensure all teams are engaged, bought in and working towards the same goals and ultimate delivery
Manage and grow a solid team of product managers
Drive delivery through product development processes, ensuring the ultimate product functions from an end user’s perspective mapping back to your initial vision and functional requirements while enabling timely product delivery through balancing market need and commercial impact with development scope with each feature and requirement
Partner very closely with engineering and technical program management to ensure product thinking is always grounded by and informed by technical opportunities and constraints
Work with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
Who you are:
Strong product management experience owning multiple, unrelated product areas including developing the product strategy, roadmap, and requirements
Exceptional People Leadership skills managing large, cross-functional teams
Someone who understands success depends upon spending time interacting with business partners and finding innovative solutions for the broader market
Ability to translate highly ambiguous business issues into structured problems, and to develop well founded solutions in a structured yet creative way
A hardworking product enthusiast with strong influential skills to align all dependent teams on the product vision and direction and to ensure execution against product development initiatives
Strong top down hypothesis driven approach to analyses, combined with ability to perform in-depth bottom up analyses
Tech savvy, having the skills to understand technical architecture across a set of systems
Advocate of agile processes to enable team delivery through speed and efficiency
A passion for data, with very strong quantitative skills who leans on data to form stories, uncover insight and support decisions
Exhibits high degree of pro-activeness in analyzing customer behavior using available data to inform vision and approach
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field; or equivalent related professional experience and plus additional 10 years of experience

The total cash range for this position in Denver is $191,000 to $267,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $305,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
