As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic you will be responsible for repairs to the Transdev John Holland Bus fleet.
We have vacancies at the following depots:
Port Botany (site and street parking available)
Waverley (approx. 600 metre walk from Bondi Junction train station)
Randwick (site and street parking available and close to Light Rail stop)

We offer:
Hourly pay rate $40.05ph - $42.05 (dependant on experience) with current EBA increase, rising to $42.79 - $44.93 (dependant on experience) in January 2025 due to EBA increase)
Potential annual earnings of up to 100K + super (including shift allowance and overtime)

About you:
Current NSW MVTC Motor Mechanic trade certificate (essential requirement)
Current HR licence (or current C class licence and have the ability to get an HR licence)
Computer literacy with the ability to record accurate maintenance information.
Capability of supervising and assisting to train apprentices and trade assistants.
Experience with scan tools (desirable).
Experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations (desirable).
Job description:
Repairing, servicing, maintaining and inspection our fleet of buses and ancillary vehicles to meet regulatory standards
Road testing of vehicles as required
Attending vehicle and/or equipment breakdown, both on and off site.
Identify charging systems, starting systems and electrical systems.
Manage ignition engines and other systems.
Diagnose brake, steering and suspension systems.
Repair transmissions and drivelines.
Identify, report and repair vehicle defects.
Hours of work:
After an initial training period on day shift you will commence a 2-week rotating roster (which includes rotation through weekend work on occasions).
Examples of shift times are below although each depot has slightly different afternoon shift times:
Day shift 6am-2.30pm
and
Mid shift 10.30am-7pm (15% shift allowance is payable for the entire shift)
and
Afternoon shift 2.30pm- 11pm (15% shift allowance is payable for the entire shift)
The hourly pay rates including 15% shift allowance are $46.06ph - $48.36 (dependant on experience) with current EBA increase, rising to $49.21 – $51.67 (dependant on experience) in January 2025 due to EBA increase
Please note that candidates who cannot provide a copy of a current NSW MVTC Motor Mechanic trade certificate will not be considered for this role
