About the role

As the Head of Data & AI Value and Transformation you will lead the team acting as the central interface to AGL’s Data & AI capability, translating business unit priorities into deliverable opportunities, partnering with Data & AI Technology and Delivery to build solutions, and ensuring measurable value is realised.

Working closely with business units, you will identify and shape Data & AI opportunities into integrated people, process and technology initiatives, while establishing and overseeing AGL’s enterprise approach to value identification, prioritisation and tracking, including executive reporting to inform key decisions.

You will partner closely with P&C, Company Secretariat, and Privacy, Ethics & Risk to support the organisational change required for successful AI adoption and builds strong connections with external partners to uplift workforce data and AI literacy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and lead the enterprise capability to identify, measure and capture value from Data & AI, ensuring delivery of meaningful, realised outcomes

  • Act as the primary interface between business units and the Data & AI function, partnering closely to shape opportunities and support end-to-end delivery

  • Lead proofs-of-value in partnership with Data & AI Technology and business stakeholders, with clear success criteria and informed go/no-go decisions

  • Lead and support organisational change to embed and scale a Data & AI-led culture across the business

  • Champion enterprise-wide literacy and adoption initiatives, including external academic and industry partnerships

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience building and leading Data Science capability within a large, complex organisation

  • Track record of delivering measurable value from data and analytics initiatives, with credibility in benefits realisation alongside Finance

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide change in complex, regulated environments, ideally across AI or digital transformation programs

  • Demonstrated success operating in federated or community-of-practice models across multiple business units

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commercial, quantitative or technology disciplines, or equivalent experience

  • Strong executive communication and influencing skills, including experience engaging at board and ELT level
