About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Planner to join our Maintenance & Outages team at the Loy Yang Mine on an 18-month Fixed Term opportunity.

Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent, you will be responsible for developing safe, efficient and effective maintenance plans and work packages in accordance with the AGL Work Management System. Working collaboratively with maintenance, operations, engineering, procurement and other key stakeholders, you will help ensure work is ready for effective execution, with consideration given to safety, scope, budget and time constraints.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop maintenance plans and work packages in line with AGL Work Management guidelines and Loy Yang planning standards.
  • Prioritise, diagnose and plan work orders to ensure they are ready for scheduling and execution.
  • Manage your planning backlog and support other work areas based on operational priorities.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams, procurement and stores to improve maintenance efficiency and work readiness.
  • Identify and implement improvements to planning standards, systems, tools and processes.
  • Assist with scheduling activities and help populate maintenance schedules with priority corrective work.
  • Develop and maintain model work orders and Bills of Materials within the CMMS.
  • Support planned and unplanned outages and emergency break-in work as required.
  • Chair and participate in meetings supporting the planning and work management process.
  • Promote safe, environmentally responsible and efficient work practices across all planning activities.

About you

This opportunity will suit a methodical and self-motivated maintenance professional who can balance changing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. You will bring strong technical and problem-solving capabilities, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to build effective working relationships across maintenance, reliability, operations and other stakeholder groups.

  • Recognised trade qualifications, an engineering qualification or significant relevant experience.
  • Previous maintenance planning experience within a heavy industrial environment is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and outage planning and scheduling practices.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms, with SAP experience highly regarded.
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Prometheus, Microsoft Project or Primavera is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety & continuous improvement.
