About the role

Strategy Analyst

As a Strategy Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping the performance and future direction of AGL’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business. You’ll deliver strategic, commercial and financial analysis, translating complex data into actionable insights that inform decision-making, support strategy development and identify opportunities for sustainable growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build market and competitive intelligence, drawing on customer insights, economic indicators, industry trends, government policy, emerging technologies and evolving business models to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Turn insights into strategy, translating market and customer intelligence into clear strategic priorities, target segments and growth recommendations in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Deliver commercial and financial analysis, developing business cases, financial models, forecasts, scenarios and sensitivities to support investment decisions, growth initiatives and potential M&A opportunities.
  • Monitor and communicate business performance, delivering quarterly and annual reporting that brings together performance metrics with insights on key drivers, risks, opportunities and progress against strategic plans.
  • Influence strategic decision-making, translating complex analysis into clear recommendations and compelling materials for C&I leadership, the Executive Team and Board, while continuously improving analytical and reporting tools.

What you’ll bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, business, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in financial modelling, forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and business case development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring together complex internal and external data and turn it into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience presenting insights to senior leaders, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and managing competing priorities.
  • Experience in the energy sector or a B2B environment, with knowledge of renewable energy, energy storage, decarbonisation or emerging energy solutions highly regarded.

What’s in it for you

  • Flexibility that works for you, with a range of flexible working options including hybrid working and flexible hours.
  • More time for what matters, with purchased leave of up to six additional weeks and an extra week of Recharge Leave for eligible employees.
  • Benefits beyond your salary, including discounted energy, telco and solar plans, employee share plans, wellbeing programs and a range of corporate offers and discounts.

Ready to make an impact?

If you’re excited by the opportunity to turn insights into action and help shape the future of AGL’s Commercial & Industrial business, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and bring your strategic thinking to AGL.
