The Role
This newly created role of Commissioning Manager reports to the Vice President - Major Projects and is responsible for the development and execution of all commissioning activities, from construction completion, through commissioning execution and handover to Operations of completed facilities.
The Commissioning Manager is also responsible for working with Operations to align on a ramp-up plan which will be led by Operations and supported by the Commissioning team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to Albemarle safety standards throughout the commissioning and startup
- Assist in developing and conveying the unique safety culture of the Kemerton plant, with the new systems developed, to contractors and vendors with the goal of zero harm (or other similar protocols developed for Kemerton)
- Work collaboratively with both the Albemarle Project and Operation teams
- Responsible for managing the commissioning budget
- Contribute to the development of the integrated Project schedule and change management/mitigation
- Provide input of commissioning and start-up considerations into technical alternatives and insure resolution of issues relating to operability and maintainability
- Supply operating, commissioning and start-up requirements for the cost estimate
- Participate in HAZOP’s and assist in the resolution of assigned HAZOP items
- Responsible for development and execution of the following:
- Commissioning System definition
- Systems turnover sequencing for Project master schedule
- Commissioning and start-up schedules
- Commissioning and start-up procedures for the Project
- Define requirement for the commissioning staffing plan for inclusion in project economics and coordinate hiring of additional personnel if needed
- Lead the development of the commissioning and start-up plan, organisation, and schedules
- Review technical options to assess SHE aspects, including compliance with all regulatory, environmental, health, safety, and community requirement
- Assist in Management of Change (MOC) preparation and execution during commissioning and start-up
- Review equipment specifications and selections for commissioning, operability and maintainability requirements
- Assist in setting the site safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements for the commissioning and start-up phases

About You

- Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Prior experience on large scale greenfield and brown field project site
- Proven, demonstrated experience with construction, commissioning and operation activities
