Job Description
The Position
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Shutdown Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for leading a team of multidisciplinary direct reports for the scoping, planning and execution of Shutdowns for Kemerton Plant. Working together with the Reliability, Planning and Production teams, the Shutdown Maintenance Superintendent will ensure that shutdowns are delivered safe on schedule and in accordance with the Shutdown Management Framework.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively liaise with internal stakeholders such as Planning, Production, Reliability, Supply Chain Planning, Contracts and Maintenance teams to ensure all required activities for Shutdowns are achieved.
Communicates effectively, both formally and informally applying excellent communication skills.
Demonstrates leadership in all aspects and lead the Shutdown Maintenance team to zero injuries and zero incidents.
Work in partnership with key contracting partners and internal teams to ensure safety and maximise shut down improvements and opportunities.
Partner with our key contractors to improve safety, quality of workmanship and supply of skilled labour.
Co-ordinate between maintenance services, Planning, Contracting Partners, and logistics teams to ensure all resources adequately assigned and team are mobilisation.
Proactively manage the Shutdown scope and schedule to ensure essential works can be completed safely during the shutdown duration.
Provide strong visible leadership to our key contracting partners and our stakeholders.
Identify and remove barriers to ensure business procedures and systems function as designed.
Ensures work scopes are prepared to a high standard and present prior to commencement of shutdown.
Set expectations, provide feedback, and hold each other accountable for our actions and responsibilities in meeting those expectations.
Measure, monitor, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to ensure attainment of maintenance objectives. Use KPI’s to set and achieve improvement objectives.
Consult with the team to ensure clear performance expectations are set, relevant direction and coaching.
Ensure conformance with the Albemarle Core values, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
Set a leading example of step-up behaviour, by developing staff, managing risk, problem solving and achieving results.
Build the team by using people’s strengths and experience, sharing information, and encouraging different points of view.

Lead and participate in event investigations, producing timelines, 5 whys.
Work Experience and Technical Skill Requirements
A demonstrated ability to implement and sustain a safe working environment and culture.
10 years proven leadership experience with the ability to build and lead a diverse team to develop a safe, inclusive work.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position.

A demonstrated ability to facilitate teams to solve problems to root cause and implement the long-term solution to eliminate the problem or improve performance.
A demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities while maintaining key stakeholder interests and relationships.

Experience in a similar front line leadership position.
A working knowledge of continuous improvement framework, risk management systems, operational budget development and management.
Education and Qualification Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualifications, bachelor's degree, or Trade Qualification.
Contractor Management, Health and Safety, Business Improvement and/or formal leadership qualifications are highly regarded.
Front Line Management certificate highly regarded.
Project management certificate.
