As part of our talent in demand program we are looking to speak to experienced Reliability Engineers interested in joining our talent pool and playing an integral role in our continued success.
You will play a key part in supporting our refinery or mine sites through:
- Identifying long term opportunities for improvement through a focus on equipment reliability, improving capacity and technical expertise.
- Providing single point accountability for engineering support in the day-to-day operations.
- Being a catalyst for and contributing to improvements for both the short- and long-term benefit to operations.
- Develop and review equipment management strategies for critical equipment.
- Monitor equipment health and compliance.
- Investigate the root causes of major equipment failures and ensure corrective action.
- Developing work scopes for major equipment repairs using fitness for service approaches.
- Safety leadership; the corner stone of Alcoa operations!

- A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with previous experience in maintenance, reliability or plant/mine engineering.

About where you may work
Kwinana Alumina Refinery is located 40 kilometres south of Perth in the Kwinana Industrial Area. It is a major employer in the area with approximately 850 employees. An estimated 48 per cent of employees live in the neighbouring communities of Kwinana, Cockburn and Rockingham.
Pinjarra Alumina Refinery is located 90 kilometres south of Perth, a 30-minute drive from the coastal city of Mandurah and six kilometres, or a 10 minute drive, east of the regional town of Pinjarra. It is situated in the Peel region of Western Australia, within the Shire of Murray and is a major regional employer with approximately 1000 employees.
Wagerup Alumina Refinery is located on the border of Western Australia’s Peel and South West regions, 130 kilometres south of Perth, four kilometres north of Yarloop and 13 kilometres south of Waroona. Wagerup refinery employs approximately 600 people and of those, around 30 per cent live in the local shires of Waroona and Harvey.
Huntly Bauxite Mine is located in the Darling Range near Dwellingup, approximately 100 kilometres south of Perth. It is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries. Approximately 600 people work at the mine.
Willowdale Bauxite Mine is located in the Darling Range near Waroona, approximately 120 kilometres south of Perth. It mines and supplies bauxite ore to Alcoa’s Wagerup Alumina Refinery. Approximately 300 people work at the mine.
