About the job
We have the opportunity for an experienced Community Relations Officer to join the team based at our Kwinana Alumina Refinery on a 9-month Fixed Term contract to cover maternity leave.
Reporting to the Refinery Manager, you will establish networks with the corporate affairs team, location functional leads and subject matter experts. Your activities will directly contribute to Alcoa’s long-term success in the region and the maintenance of its social licence to operate. You will do this by designing, implementing and monitoring best practice social performance elements including stakeholder engagement and issues management.
Your main tasks will include:
Internal and external communications,
Internal and external event management.
Stakeholder engagement including neighbour relations.
Identification and management of social risks and issues.
Development and implementation of local community partnerships.
Developing and supporting employee volunteering opportunities.
About you
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
Previous experience in a similar role.
A well-developed understanding and demonstrated success in managing stakeholder relations, designing strategy, and handling complex issues.
Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and transparent manner, to think strategically and influence outcomes.
Knowledge of the bauxite-alumina-aluminium industry and Alcoa’s geographical and socio-political setting in WA would be advantageous.
