About the job

Are you a leader looking to take the next step in your career, or to apply your experience in a new environment? Our Wagerup Refinery are looking for a Maintenance Superintendent with a passion for people management to join the team central services team for 12 months working a Monday through Friday day schedule.

As the Superintendent, we want you to lead the team of Supervisors and their crews to execute unplanned maintenance across all of our Operating Areas at Wagerup. You are tasked to raise the overall maintenance effectiveness by eliminating barriers to improvements, improving our people capability, and the alignment of these efforts!

The Superintendent contributes and is accountable for:

  • Sustained achievements and strategic improvements in the equipment management process through leadership and robust direction in relation to reliability and maintenance optimisation.

  • Asset integrity and compliance requirements are met by the operating area, identifying and effectively managing key asset related risks and maximising asset health.

  • Daily functions involving safety, environment, people management, budget planning, cost and forecasting control,

  • Linking and translating the OC objectives into achievable activity plans, empowering our personnel to achieve them by creating, implementing, sustaining and improving effective management systems to meet business needs

  • Managing maintenance supervisors, our people, resources and external service providers to effectively plan and execute maintenance activities, major overhauls and all equipment management strategies.

  • Being a key member of the operating area leadership team contributing to strategic direction, operating continuous improvement and striving for excellence.

  • Cost effective maintenance to support the process plan and schedule.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, or relevant trade qualifications are well regarded,

  • Processing plant, Bayer process knowledge and associated equipment knowledge would be advantageous,

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build, develop, and inspire success in teams, inclusive of coaching and mentoring,

  • A strong understanding and application of Environmental Health & Safety leadership and management,

  • Exposure to managing maintenance budgets, maintenance equipment management and repair strategies, and project planning

  • An effective approach to change management leading to positive outcomes and sustained employee engagement, and

  • A passion to network and forge beneficial working relationships within the wider business.

  • High levels of motivation and workplace resilience with an optimistic outlook to challenges.
