About the job

An exciting opportunity exists to join Alcoa’s Powerhouse Team in the position of Equipment Maintenance Coordinator (Electrical). For this leadership opportunity you will be based at Wagerup Refinery, although as part of the wider WA Operations group can expect exposure at our other Refineries, whether temporary, or permanent in future.

Supervising a team of Electrical / Instrument (E/I) technicians, the Coordinator plays an active role in supporting the Powerhouse to maintain and solve problems that will maximise the performance of the Power Distribution (PD) & E/I infrastructure, reduce costs and improve EH&S issues. The role has a critical review and audit function to ensure management understand the limitations of the PD-E/I infrastructure and that where this is being operated outside the limitations that recommendations are made to correct this.

This role includes:

  • Ensuring that the equipment management strategies and planned work targets are achieved by focusing on a detailed plan, work-packs and optimisation of resources

  • Representing the Powerhouse in regards to site wide equipment scheduling, aligning major equipment maintenance / overhauls with the site & WA plan

  • Planning E/I component on equipment major overhaul outages

  • Developing, coaching and training of EI personnel

  • Carrying the responsibility of the Powerhouse Supervising Gas Fitter, and level 3 Site HV Switching Operator

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • A passion for managing and developing individuals to utilise their unique strengths and expertise to maximise powerhouse performance

  • Communication skills that enable you to communicate effectively across all levels of Alcoa’s business as well as external parties

  • Both an interest and experience in electrical power distribution

  • An aptitude to effectively plan and schedule resources

  • Informed and intuitive problem-solving skills

  • Supervisory Gas Fitter licence and HV Switching Operator tickets would be considered favourably
