Due to a recent promotion, we now have an opening for a Chemical Services Manager to lead our lab facilities at our Kwinana Refinery. Working on a Monday through Friday days roster, you will manage a 24/7 laboratory service to our mining and refinery operations located across the Perth metro and Peel region.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will provides expert advice to our operations and undertake the following activities:
Manage the Refinery Laboratory in a safe and cost effective manner to produce quality process control and problem solving information to the Technical Services group and Kwinana Refinery personnel.
Provide a world class product certification service for all of WA Chemicals and SGA production to Marketing.
Manage the WA Mining Laboratory in a safe and cost-effective manner to produce quality analyses on exploration drilling samples and historical samples for the Mine Development group.
Represent Alcoa at Australian and international standards committees and ISO working groups for the development of analytical standards.
Represent the Kwinana Refinery Laboratory at the Technology advancement Team meetings and support associated activities.
Provide leadership to a team comprising of chemists, supervisors, lab technicians and analysts to support further development and succession planning for the laboratory.

What you can bring to the role:
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or Metallurgy.
Knowledge of the Bayer process would be highly advantageous.
An ability to lead and develop a team and deliver results through others.
A customer centric mentality with an ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
Background in working within the mineral processing or mining industry.
