About the role:


Do you have a security mindset complimented with a background in Information Technology and on the lookout for your next career adventure where your technical expertise will be highly valued?

We are on the search for a suitably qualified Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing Information Technology & Automation Solutions (ITAS) Security & Privacy team! In this role, you will be primarily based at our HQ in Booragoon with the flexibility to work remotely where some occasional night calls may be required as you collaborate with the wider ITAS team globally.

Reporting to our Manager, ITAS Security & Privacy you will have global accountabilities for all of Alcoa’s locations cyber security program, ensuring protection of data and assets, completing intelligence and threat analysis, risk and incident management, investigations along with compliance coordination.

Additionally, a day in the life of this role may include:

  • Performing incident response activities, including incident identification, assessment, and response.

  • Conducting malware analysis and event correlation using the company’s Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) to assist in forensic analysis and cyber event response.

  • Effectively documenting results of cyber threat analysis and subsequent remediation and recovery.

  • Supporting the ongoing maintenance of the cyber kill chain for the company, focusing on phases of cyber-attack and remediation/mitigation for each phase.

  • Providing security awareness, communication, and education to the Alcoa’s locations and employees.

What you can bring to the role:

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information / Cyber Security, Computer Forensics, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Experienced in Cyber Security / Incident Response within a similar capacity.

  • Exposure to cyber security risk and mitigation strategies, programs, and operations.

  • An ability to make prompt decisions within tight timeframes and escalate issues accordingly.

  • Solid understanding of security architectures and technologies.

  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
