Based locally in our Mine Hub in Pinjarra, the Technical Services Superintendent - MTP is responsible for the preparation of medium term mine plans to facilitate alignment between the strategic objectives of the business, as directed by the 10 Year Life of Mine Plan, through detailed 12-36 month planning.
The role is focused on ensuring that the delivery of a high-quality product is balanced against the strategic objective to maximise the life and sustainability of the bauxite resource. As an integral member of the Technical Services group, you will lead a team of experienced professionals responsible for the delivery of schedules, and planning and other mining-related activities within a rolling 12 - 36 months’ time frame for 02 different mine sites.
Core activities will include:
Provide relevant environmental management plans to address the protection of forest hygiene, forest reserves, watercourses, and heritage values within applicable planning time frames.
Develop 12 – 36 month Mining Plans and present as optimised annual and quarterly plans, considering all the relevant variables that impact mining.
Coordinate pit optimisation and design activities to deliver mineable reserves from a given resource model.
Oversee the coordination and alignment within the mining schedules of both pre-mining (clearing, haul road and other infrastructure) and post mining (rehabilitation) activities.
Lead and participate in mining option analysis including equipment selection and haulage optimisation studies.
Develop mining physicals (plans) and conduct productivity analyses to support the annual budget process.
This is a great opportunity to be in a site-based position whilst being home every night on a Monday – Friday roster where you will play a key role in the continued success of our mine operations.

What you can bring to the role:
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Bachelor of Engineering in mining, geology, or related discipline.
Demonstrable expertise within Mine planning, mine geology and survey progressing into a leadership position.
Able to effectively influence stakeholders across all levels of the business.
Expertise in mining operations and equipment selection/productivity.
Ability to execute resource modelling and block model data handling and manipulation.
Experience in the operation of materials handling and mobile mining equipment.
Knowledge of government approval processes and general landscape clearing requirements.
Understanding of rehabilitation landform planning (design and schedule) and general principles.
High level proficiency in mine planning software and GIS based data presentation and manipulation.
