  • Work part‑time (0.6 FTE), 3 days a week on a 12‑month contract
  • Partner with leaders to deliver commercial insight in Retail Markets
  • Attractive hybrid work model | Energy Discounts | Career Growth Opportunities

Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s biggest energy retailers, generators and developers with over 1.1 million customers. Australia’s energy system is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history and we’re right there with it. We’re investing in and developing large-scale renewables and storage projects as part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.

We understand that flexibility matters when considering your next role. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll carefully consider how we might accommodate them.

Ready to make a real impact?

As a Senior Retail Analyst, you’ll support the Retail Markets business by providing clear, practical financial insight that helps leaders understand performance and make informed decisions. You’ll analyse operating expenses and FTE drivers, prepare budgets and forecasts, and deliver monthly performance reporting. A key part of the role is explaining variances, identifying trends, and translating financial data into meaningful, actionable insights for non‑finance stakeholders.

You’ll also contribute to the financial control environment, including month‑end accounting tasks including accruals and reconciliations, and support ongoing improvements to forecasting, reporting and financial processes. This role is well suited to an experienced finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business and working across both commercial insight and financial control activities.

Working pattern and flexibility

This is a part‑time role (0.6 FTE), working three days per week on a 12‑month contract, based in Perth. You’ll work two days per week in the Perth office, with Thursday as a fixed in‑office day. Your second office day is flexible, and the third day can be worked from home.

Why you’ll love working here

At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia - and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.

There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver insightful monthly performance reporting and analysis
  • Analyse FTE and operating expense drivers to explain variances
  • Partner with business stakeholders to prepare Oracle budgets and forecasts
  • Develop and maintain forecasting and planning assumptions
  • Provide financial modelling to support commercial decisions
  • Own month‑end accounting tasks, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Identify automation and process improvement opportunities

Your experience

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience, with demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and accounting standards
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting and financial control
  • Degree qualification in commerce or accounting
  • CA, CPA or CIMA qualification
  • Strong financial analysis and problem‑solving capability
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner with stakeholders across multiple teams and levels

This role suits a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business and turning complex data into meaningful insights in a fast‑paced environment.
