Australia’s energy system is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history and we’re right there with it. We’re investing in and developing large-scale renewables and storage projects as part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.

About the role

Reporting to the Operational Technology Manager, you'll work at the intersection of control systems, OT networks and cybersecurity, helping deliver critical initiatives that strengthen operational resilience, compliance and reliability across our generation portfolio. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a growing capability, work with cutting-edge technologies and become a trusted technical specialist in a highly visible role.
Why you’ll love working here
At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia - and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.
There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.

- Support the delivery of strategic OT programs and projects that strengthen the security, reliability and resilience of critical infrastructure.
- Drive continuous improvement through technical problem-solving, documentation, standardisation and stakeholder collaboration.
Your experience
- Degree-qualified in Electrical, Control Systems, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in Operational Technology, Control Systems or Industrial Automation within power generation, utilities, mining, manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial networks and control system architectures.
- Understanding of OT cybersecurity principles, network security and critical infrastructure environments.
