About The Role:

We are currently seeking a Head of Microgrid Design & Delivery to join our New Markets team reporting to the General Manager of New Markets. This is a full-time, permanent role to be ideally based in Melbourne with some travel required. The role will lead the design, procurement and delivery of Microgrid projects across Alinta’s mining, manufacturing and industrial customers creating market leading Energy as a Service offerings. This role will work closely with the Head of Microgrid Development.

Duties:

• Establish & deliver the capability to design behind the meter solutions, incorporating Solar Photovoltaic generation, battery energy storage systems with active demand side response capability.
• Project manage the delivery & operation of solutions in a Safe, timely and quality driven manner.
• Assist in the development of strategies that achieve a seamless integration of Energy as a Service activities.
• Use entrepreneurial acumen to identify, develop and deliver solutions that have a positive impact and a win-win outcome with our customers.
• Interact with a diverse set of partners and prospective partners to develop and manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
• Participate and contribute to an effective and productive team.

Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience within BTM or utility scale renewable energy project design and engineering and/or complex energy efficiency or demand response programs.
• Demonstrated & successful delivery of complex microgrids and onsite generation (diesel, gas, cogen, W2E and solar) and storage assets for mining, manufacturing and industrial customers.
• Experience in negotiating, executing and managing multiple and concurrent EPC and O&M contracts and counterparty relationships with each project or contract value $2.5m to $25m
• Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to manage numerous projects and relationships simultaneously.
• Extensive knowledge of interconnection, permitting, regulations, policy, law and other issues that impact development of renewable energy projects.
