About Port Hedland Power Station:
The Port Hedland Power Station consists of 4 x 32 MW GE Frame 6B Gas Turbines and 1 x GE LM6000 . The Station is a key provider of energy for BHP Billiton Iron Ore's operations and the township of Port Hedland.
Current expansion works are in progress with the construction of a 45MW solar farm and a 35 MW one hour battery. To be completed by the end of 2024.
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical/instrumentation Operations and Maintenance Technician Supervisor to join our Port Hedland Power Station team. This is a permanent, full-time basis, working a 2 week on, 2 week off roster FIFO from Perth or residential in Port Hedland Reporting to the Plant Manager the primary objective of the role is to assist with the supervision and coaching of staff to maintain a high-performance team culture. Co-ordinating the delivery of the annual work plan and ensuring a safe and efficient operations & maintenance of plant at Port Hedland Power Station.
Duties:
- Supervise the team to achieve maintenance and operation of equipment in accordance with good engineering and operating practices, to ensure the capacity, availability, and reliability of the generating plant
- Contribute to the development of the annual work plan, then coordinate and execute the plan including optimising the assignment of resources
- Coordinate, and monitor the performance and delivery of works carried out by Alinta personnel and contractors alike
- Prepare detailed work scopes, and procedures for routine maintenance tasks, outages, capital projects, and plant/facility improvements
- Ensure reporting and investigations are completed on plant and equipment incidents in a timely manner
Skills & Experience:
- Relevant technical qualification – Certificate III in relevant discipline: electrical, instrumentation or dual trade
- Relevant industry experience in power station operation and/or maintenance, including gas turbine generators and HV equipment
- Relevant technical experience with advanced process control systems, including but not limited to maintenance and modifications
- Genuine ability to foster the development and learning of others to improve capability by providing development experiences and opportunities as well as coaching, guidance and feedback
This is a great opportunity for an Operation & Maintenance Supervisor to join our Port Hedland Power Station. You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in a range of areas, day to day coordination, project management and prioritisation. PTW and safety system administration. Contractor and outage planning, scheduling, and management. Work with people that know success firsthand, that share your passion.
