At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be our next PMO Risk Manager in Melbourne, we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a critical leadership role where you will shape and strengthen risk governance across major rolling stock projects and other ANZ programs within the RSC portfolio. Working alongside Project Directors and senior stakeholders, you will act as an independent and trusted risk partner—challenging assumptions, enabling faster decisions, and driving proactive risk mitigation!

You will embed yourself across priority projects, rapidly diagnosing risks, stabilising performance, and deploying sustainable governance frameworks that enhance project outcomes.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Lead proactive risk identification across complex projects by facilitating collaborative workshops and partnering with teams to identify and anticipate key risks early.
  • Use structured risk assessment (likelihood × impact) to prioritise key risks, supporting clear, confident decision-making alongside Project Directors.
  • Ensure robust mitigation strategies are in place, with clear ownership and accountability—tracking delivery and challenging effectiveness to protect cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Drive and deploy mitigation execution with Project Directors, ensuring ownership and effective risk reduction
  • Monitor trends and emerging risks across projects, providing timely insights and escalating critical issues early to prevent impact.
  • Deliver clear reporting dashboards and executive reports highlighting key risks, exposure, and trends.
  • Building risk capability and culture by coaching teams, promoting disciplined risk practices, and leading regular reviews and lessons learned.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management or related field.
  • Experience of risk management processes within large-scale industrial projects.
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Things you'll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You'll also:

  • Have the opportunity to develop your career in global industry leader
  • Receive 18 weeks paid parental leave
  • Have access to a free corporate gym membership
  • Receive free salary continuity insurance
  • Be eligible for Bridging Leave (extra leave days each year)
  • Have free access to Alstom University (1000's of courses and learning material)
